MISSION & HISTORY.
KOTRA was established for the purposes of promoting international trade of the Republic of Korea and providing support for cross-border investments by domestic and foreign companies, industrial and technological cooperation, inducement of overseas experts, and export contracts between governments pursuant to theKorea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency Act.
Capitalizing on its global knowledge and experience accumulated based on its extensive global network featuring 123 Korea Business Centers (KBCs) in 86 countries around the world, KOTRA promotes trade by Korean companies and attracts foreign investments by overseas companies, while actively supporting government policies such as support for free trade agreements (FTAs) and job creation.
Based on its establishment purpose, KOTRA has formulated its mission statement as being "contributing to promoting happiness of the public and prosperity of the global community through support for global business" and has also developed its vision to become a "global business platform opening up the future of Korea."
